LKA’s team of experts will complete a thorough review of submitted documents to determine if your child may have dyslexia since we are a school only for children with dyslexia.
If the team finds that your child may be dyslexic, your child’s case will be transferred to the Dyslexia Resource Center for further evaluation for dyslexia.
Louisiana state law defines dyslexia as "an unexpected difficulty in reading for an individual who has the intelligence to be a much better reader, most commonly caused by a difficulty in phonological processing, which affects the ability of an individual to speak, read, and spell.” "Phonological processing" means the appreciation of the individual sounds of spoken and written language. - Louisiana Act 206
